Not all polish colors work well with every skin tone. Backstage at Costello Tagliapietra, Deborah Lippmann told us the best way to figure out whether your nail lacquer “fits” you is to check your cuticle post-application. If you’re wearing a color with cool undertones, but have warm undertones in your skin, your cuticle and the skin around the nail can appear pink-ish. “It's a really good way to know that the color that you're wearing is wrong for you,” said Deborah.
