Jill Stuart’s confection-colored collection translated to a youthful and glowing beauty look. Makeup artist Diane Kendall for Jill Stuart said it was a little 70’s inspired, but it also had a mixture of sophistication and bohemian. The overall effect was definitely youthful.
“We’re using black kohl on the inside of the eye smudged down with a clean brush and black cream liner on top,” Diane said. “Once it’s dry going over it with a brush just to soften it.”
The skin had a matte finish with a hint of highlight on the cheeks. Diane also used the Jill Stuart blush palette (pictured above) for a subtle glow of pink. Diane washed out the lips with foundation and then dabbed neon orange and pink powders (also pictured above) to give a “hint of stain without too much color.”
Keeping with the youthful vibe, lead stylist Odile Gilbert for Kerastase created a side swept look that was supposed to give the illusion of bangs.
“We’re creating the texture using the mouse and squeezing the hair with the dryer,” she said. “And then place the bang on the side and pin it.” For an added element of playfulness, there’s a small braid coming from the nape of the neck, which will come out when the models walk the runway.
