Victoria Beckham Goes Androgynous - NYFW Spring 2012
Gender bending seems to be the new black this season, and Victoria Beckham's Spring 2012 collection is continuing the trend. Nonie Creme of Butter London describes the look as a "handsome woman in that very English, Victoria way." She also notes that Victoria's getting more edgy with her designs, which influenced the androgynous beauty.
To give the girls a more masculine look, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury for Lancome created glowing skin with contouring under the cheekbones for a more chiseled look and fuller brows. She also muted out the lips with concealer and topped with gloss.
As for the hair, Guido Palau for Redken was actually inspired by Catherine Deneuve with the pinned back style. He actually used a Goody clip, which made for a sleek and structured statement. "The twist on this hair are the two different textures," Guido said. "You get this contrast - super sleek and ratty back. Catherine had it blown out, but we're breaking it down and making it modern."
"This woman would probably not wear a colorful nail," Nonie said. So she wanted to mock a buffed nail without actually buffing the models' real nails. After manicuring the hands and paying attention to the cuticles, Nonie applied on coat of Butter London Horse Power Nail Fertilizer, which is a clear nail strengthener.
