Wild Argan Oil Takes Center Stage in The Body Shop’s New Collection

The Body Shop is committed to creating products that not only nourish our skin, but by sourcing raw ingredients from all over the world and learning from artisan farmers, the brand is also able to support the fair trade community with their products. That’s what we love most about them! The Body Shop has just added another fair trade supplier, the Targanine Cooperative, to their resume and many women have already benefited from their partnership. But when a new fair trade partnership comes along, that means a new, delicious collection of bath and body products to treat our skin to. 

 

Introducing: The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Bath and Bodycare Range, made from precious Atlas Mountain wild argan nuts that have been hand-picked and carefully hand-cracked by the local Berber women of Morocco. The Berber women have been using Argan oil in their traditional hammam beauty rituals. Hammam is kind of like a Turkish bath, where the people of Morocco cleanse their skin until it glows. 

 

The nine-product range includes a Body Butter, The Radiant Oil, Bubbling Bath, Rough Scrub (featuring tiny granules of argan nut shells), Body Lotion, Shower Gel, Massage Soap, Miracle Solid Oil and Soil Oil Lips. The collection features everything you’ll need to have your own hammam experience at home. The Argan oil is packed with essential fatty acids and vitamins that protects the people of Morocco from the Saharan winds and sun, just imagine what it can do for us. The Body Shop works closely with the Targanine Cooperative to help the local Berber woman provide for their families and communities. They help the women find buyers for their oil, allowing them to get a steady income. The partnership also provides the funds for daycare for the women’s children while they work.
