Chanel's Silver Lining Manicure
By Beauty Blitz / July 7, 2012
In 1994, there was Vamp. A few years later, we all fell for Jade. Remember swooning over Black Satin and Peridot? As much as we covet a seasonal quilted accessory, nothing brings us quite the same glee as lovely lacquer.
Chanel models have historically worn just one shade on their nails, but last week at the Haute Couture collection, Chanel's Creative Director of Makeup, Peter Philips, took his first foray into fancy fingertips. The models wore nail art that can only be described as melon clouds with a silver lining.
Paired with metallic hairnets, this nail motif fit into an overall style theme that Karl Lagerfeld refers to as "new vintage." The look was created using Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in May and Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Silver (a limited edition shade from Spring 2007). It's no longer available, but you can get a similar effect using Essie's No Place Like Chrome.
