Rachel Zoe Channeled Herself for the Spring 2013 Beauty Look
By Kaitlyn Dreyling / September 13, 2012
Stylist-turned-designer, Rachel Zoe, has made boho chic popular with the help of her celebrity clients, and that was the driving force behind the beauty inspiration. "Yesterday we went for the fitting, and Rachel decided to cut her bang," said lead stylist Odile Gilbert for Kerastase. "So I cut her bang with little pieces on the side, and from there we decied to include bangs with the models. So half of the models have bangs, otherwise it's the texture of the hair - we're doing a classic blow dry." She used Kerastase Mousse Volumactiv and Fibre Architechte on the ends to blow dry the hair set the look in pin curls. After she let the hair down, Odile gave the final look a mist of Double Force Hairspray for hold.
Charlotte Tilbury for Maybelline created the makeup look with a palette of warm browns. "Rachel wanted a bohemian natural look," she explained, "so Kate Moss is the icon, the inspiration." She started off with Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream for a natural looking complexion, and then she contoured the cheekbones with Dream Matte Mousse in Cocoa Dark. Charlotte gave the cheeks a soft flush with mix of Dream Bouncy Blush in Fresh Pink and Rose Petal. And for the eyes, she used a mix of Dream Matte Mousse in Cocoa Dark and Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. "It's like you're creating a smoky eye," Charlotte explained, "but it's very natural looking color - it just gives a little bit of defintion to the eye." She finished the look with Baby Lips lip balm blended with Colorsensational Lip Liner in Nude 20 to just enhance the natural color of the lip.
Lastly, Honey Nailz custom blended Color Show Nail Lacquer in Sweet Clementine, Porcelain Party and Born With It to create a "creamy, warm nude shade."
