Get the Look: Emmy Rossum’s Evil Eye Nail Art
By Klaudia Tirico / April 17, 2014
Ever since its major display on the fall 2014 runways, minimalist nail art has overtaken elaborate designs. But as Emmy Rossum proves, simple doesn’t have to mean boring. The actress attended a Jimmy Choo event this week looking spring-perfect in a minidress, periwinkle eyeshadow and super-cool evil eye nail art by Butter London’s own Katie Jane Hughes. We’re obsessed with the placement of the “eye” and subtle color palette. Hughes shares a simple step-by-step to get the look on your own.
Left to right: butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Cotton Buds, Nail Foundation, Nail Lacquer in Sprog, Nail Lacquer in Union Jack Black.
Step 1: Start with a flawless canvas using Butter London’s Nail Foundation Flawless Base Coat ($19).
Step 2: Using Butter London Nail Lacquer in Cotton Buds ($15), paint on a half-moon at the base of the nail. Leave the the rest of the nail buff to give it a “floating nail art look.”
Step 3: Finish it off with some dimension. Apply a dot of Sprog ($15) to the middle of the white half-moon, then add a slightly smaller dot using Union Jack Black ($15) right on top.
