We’re Seeing Double With This Cat Eye
By Kaitlyn Dreyling / June 19, 2014
Winged eyeliner is a classic, but this past resort season showed us how to flick it up a notch. Both Chanel and Dior showcased their 2015 resort collections accented with a double-winged eyeliner look. With summer around the corner, what better time to than to give this eye makeup a try? I was inspired by the clean liner from the Dior runway, which is a wearable look that easily translates to the real world. Here's how I created a double cat eye in four simple steps.
Step 1
This look is all about the graphic nature of liquid eyeliner, but to ensure that I would get the shape I wanted, I started off by roughly drawing on the winged line with a pencil.
Step 2
I traced over the pencil with Maybelline Ultra Liner and perfected the winged tail at the outer corner to create a classic cat eye.
Step 3
To add a little edge to winged liner, the next step is to draw a second graphic line along the lower lash line that extends past the outer corner of the eye. As in step 1, I used a pencil to make sure I was drawing the line exactly where I wanted it to be.
Step 4
Again, I went over the pencil with the liquid liner and perfected the tapered tail at the end. Don't forget to curl your lashes and to give them a coat or two of black mascara.
The final look is a subtle but graphic double-winged cat-eye. Like models did at Dior, I kept the rest of my makeup simple with a soft pink flush on my cheeks, a hint of coral color on my lips and groomed brows.
