War Paint for the Holiday Season
There are a lot of weeknight parties to attend, deadlines to meet, hit-or-miss dessert recipes to attempt, and surfaces to cover in glitter and tinsel before we make it to that sweet binge-watch Netflix marathon that is the last week of December (I already have the dates blocked off on my calendar, you?).
I figure I can either start referring to the ever deepening dark circles around my eyes as my “facial Christmas wreaths” (maybe I’ll glue on some festive crystals?), or do something about them.
This is no time for sheer “illuminators” that let discoloration show through. That’s basically like wrapping a gift in transparent cellophane — what’s the point? Instead, I’ve been using Chantecaille’s new Le Camouflage Stylo Anti-Fatigue Corrector Pen ($49), which attacks undereye issues on multiple fronts. First and most importantly, its light-reflective pigments brighten and blur dark circles while providing real deal coverage that doesn’t crease or look caked on. (Looking like you just walked off the set of a TV news show isn’t the answer.) It covers so much better than other click pen products I’ve tried, and I’ve tried many. This one is a true concealer, and not just a highlight pen.
The formula also has skincare benefits, thanks to an anti-fatigue tetra-peptide that de-puffs and enhances elasticity and a botanical-based brightening active that helps even out skin tone. And the silver camo-printed, brush-tipped pen tucks neatly into a work bag or clutch, should you need to reapply. I use it on blemishes and on broken capillaries around my nose, too. With any luck, I’ll make it to January without having to untag any photos. Unless there’s champagne.
