Bright Colors at Tracy Reese - Fall 2012
The season may be fall backstage at Lincoln Center, but the pops of color and bronzed skin at Tracy Reese almost felt like summer. "We wanted it to be a bit different than your typical fall makeup," said makeup artist Mally Roncal, founder of Mally Beauty. She used bronzer on the skin and three different eyeliner pencils - Electric Blue, Electric Teal and Electric Purple - to create the winged liner. Each model had a one of the three shades lining her lids based on the clothes she wore down the runway.
"Color is a trend for fall," Mally said. "It's time to make it different that what the usual fall makeup is - smoky eyes and red lips. We wanted it to be a little bit of a different effect, more like fun and young and a pop of color."
That colorful vibe was also visible on the nails. Tracy Reese collaborated with Sally Hansen for yet another season, and they're debuting a brand new formula that features real silver and bold pigments for an iridescent finish. Tracy created a vibrant teal shade, Scarab, and a metallic bronze, Copperhead. Manicurist Jin Soon Choi polished the nails with either shade depending on the clothes the model was wearing. The new formula (and name!) will be debuting in October 2012.

Jeanie Syfu for Tresemme created the twisted ponytail. "The look is inspired by a natural street style, just how the girls like to look - very effortless, very easy dressing," she said. "Tracy's collection has a lot of prints and layering of texture and fabrics, so we're kind of doing that with the hair." She created the texture in the hair using Tresemme 24 Hour Body Mousse and rough dried it with he fingers. She set the hair with a double barrel curling iron for added texture and pulled the hair into a low pony. She left out two side sections, which she wrapped around the pony for the twist in the back.
