Bibhu Mohapatra“The play on textures and the variations of braids and chignons embrace Nancy Cunard’s far-reaching influences, ranging from Africa to 1020s Paris. Tadashi Shoji“The Venetian inspired lace and varied textures of the fabrics in the Tadashi Shoji Spring/Summer 2015 collection compelled me to create a simple yet strong silhouette. In the way Tadashi chose to take the classic lace in a new direction, I created a modern lace of my own, reflected in the horizontal chignon braid.” –Rodney CutlerPhoto by: courtesy of Cutler Salon -

Mara HoffmanCatwalk by Tigi Global Creative Director Nick Irwin created a gorgeous lived-in, desert braid that worked perfectly with Mara Hoffman’s easy, breezy California desert vibe. Irwin’s key to the perfect undone braid was a lot of Catwalk by Tigi Transforming Dry Shampoo and a kneading technique to loosen the plait.Photo by: Klaudia Tirico -

Marissa WebbThere were two braided looks – created by Jeannie Syfu for Tresemmé – at Marissa Webb spring show. The first was a crazy-cool pompadour featuring not one, but three braids: a Dutch braid at each side and a French braid down the middle. All three connected into a bun with the end left out for a pony effect. The second was an even cooler five-strand plait. It’s hard to pick a favorite.Photo by: Getty -
