Topshop’s New Smoke & Mirrors Collection
Ever since Topshop debuted their makeup line in 2010, I’ve been coveting everything from their wide range of nail polish shades to their fabulous eye shadow palettes. The retailer puts as much design muscle behind their makeup as they do for their über stylish clothes - and the new limited-edition Smoke & Mirrors Collection is no exception. The ‘70s-inspired, 11-piece ensemble features a range of glamorous, sophisticated shades guaranteed to amp up any holiday party dress. Plus, the opulent, amber packaging with geometric patterns is nothing short of elegant. Here are a few of my must-have pieces:
Eye Palette in Secret Liaisons, $25
This eye shadow quad includes a sheer highlighter, a matte brown and plum for contouring, and a frosty gold, all housed in a round compact with a built-in mirror and brush.
Lips in Rumour Has It and Pillow Talk, $18
These two new lip shades leave your lips with a glossy finish and a moisturized feel. Rumour Has It is a pretty nude, while Pillow Talk leaves a rosy-pink finish. Both colors can be patted on to build the color and add drama.
It’s hard to choose a favorite among these high-gloss polishes - all the shades are great. Prim & Proper is a dusty pink, Bourbon is a dark chocolate hue, Miss Marmalade is the perfect shade of mustard, and Fallen Leaf mimics faded leaves.
Other goodies in the collection include the Bronze & Blush compact in Burning Embers ($25), a Lip & Eye Pencil Set ($20), and a Lash Extender Mascara ($20). All are available at select Topshop stores and online.
