So far possible rain is in the forecast for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards this Sunday, March 7th! So what does that mean for the makeup artists and their muses?
Beauty Blitz got to chat with celebrity makeup artist and Academy Awards makeup department head,
Bruce Grayson, to see how he handles the weather when the cameras are flashing.
Basically when it comes to rain, Bruce just knows he has to be prepared. In the rain he worries most about mascara and eyeshadow running, so he always has his "repair kit" ready!
"I carry makeup remover," Bruce said. "Like
MAC eye makeup remover for touch ups."
He also turns to
Olay Regenerist Anti-Aging Eye Roller to refresh the area around the eyes and some
Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer - "but not too much," he added.
But Bruce doesn't have to just worry about the rain. He knows that a sweaty brow is definitely something that might sabotage a photo.
"I'm always on standby with Kleenex," he said.
And he's not quick to pile on the powder either. It can make the complexion look cakey and enhance wrinkles or other imperfections, so he sometimes opts for a
MAC Matte,
Lancome Blotting Sheets or a translucent powder.
"Sometimes I don't mind the shine," he said, noting that a natural looking glow is good.
