Chanel Love Your Makeup Event: Find Your Perfect Foundation
Just like finding the perfect pair of jeans, discovering your perfect foundation match, is, well, quite the epic search. I've always been under the philosophy that foundation is one of those beauty products worth spending the time and money to getting it just right, because when you do - it's more than worth it. So clearly, when I was offered the chance to meet with celebrity makeup artist Fulvia Farolfi for a one-on-one foundation consultation, I said YES!
Fulvia took a look at my bare face and classified me as a "flawless" complexion (it's all because of my skincare routine!) with an oily T-zone. She determined Perfection Lumiere ($55) in 20 Beige was my perfect match, since it's lightweight, but gives moderate coverage with a natural finish. I love how smooth it made my skin and it that also helped to control the shininess of my T-zone without giving me an overly matte look.
Next, she complemented my new foundation with Correcteur Perfection ($40) in 20 Beige Ivoire, a touch of Poudre Universelle ($52) in 20 Clair and gave my a soft smoky eye using purple shades from the Les 4 Ombres ($58) in Vanites and the Ombres Contraste Duo ($42) in Misty Soft. She gave me a winged liner look using the Stylo Yeux Waterproof ($30) in 83 Cassis and coated my lashes with Inimitable Intense ($30) in 10 Noir. She dusted my cheeks with a blend of Joues Contraste ($43) in 68 Rose Ecrin and 64 Pink Explosion, and she added Rouge Coco Shine ($32.50) in 437 Empreinte as the final touch.
Don't think this special treatment is just for beauty editors! You can get in on the action, too, thanks to Chanel's Love Your Makeup initiative. From now through the end of July, Chanel is inviting you to meet with a Chanel expert (for free!) at your local counter to determine the right foundation formula, texture and shade for your individual complexion concerns. And if you want to check it out right now, head on over to chanel.com, where you can take the online foundation diagnosis.
P.S. Did I mention that Fulvia was rocking a pair of Chanel high tops? Just thought these were totally worth mentioning...and now I'll wipe the drool off my chin!
