About Polly Blitzer

Founder & Editor-in-Chief of beautyblitz

Polly Blitzer has been a women's magazine editor for nine years, six of which were spent covering the beauty industry at In Style. In July 2007, she decided to launch the first national beauty magazine to be published entirely online.

As Blitzer noticed a shift in journalism from print to digital formats, she became fascinated with the potential of Internet media: its speediness, immediacy and interactivity could make beauty attainable, shareable and available to consumers all over the world at no cost to them.

Combining a solid journalistic foundation, innovative design team, interactive platform and ability to predict consumer behavior, Blitzer seeks to redefine the role of editorial coverage in the beauty industry.

She is a regular on local and national television programs, including Entertainment Tonight, Showbiz Tonight, Fox News, CNN, CBS News and others. She has appeared as a beauty expert in publications such as The New York Times and New York Daily News. She's been a spokesperson for Clairol Natural Instincts campaigns and has provided online beauty training to executives at Procter & Gamble, Guerlain, Givenchy, Estee Lauder and Target.

Blitzer is a native New Yorker and a graduate of Columbia University, where she received her B.A. in Sociology. Prior to working at In Style, she was an editor at Marie Claire. She has also worked in the investment banking division at Salomon Smith Barney and in the corporate editorial division of Condé Nast Publications. She is the founder of Kiss & Make Up, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children with cancer.
